Legal
Terms of Service
Effective August 3, 2026
These terms cover your use of donutiloveu.com. They’re short, because the site is short.
Using this site
You’re welcome here. Please don’t try to break the site, scrape it wholesale, or use it to do anything illegal. That’s the whole rule.
What this site does and doesn’t do
You can order ahead for pickup on this website. Payment is processed by Square through a secure payment field at checkout — we never see or store your card details. Everything else still happens at the shop, at the truck, or through Square for gift cards.
Gift cards are handled by Square. Clicking through to buy one takes you to Square’s site, where Square’s terms and privacy policy apply. We don’t process or store card details anywhere.
Online orders
Online orders are for pickup only, at the shop — 908 E. 35th Street. You choose your pickup time at checkout.
Everything is made to order. If we genuinely can’t fulfill something after you’ve paid, we’ll contact you and refund you in full. Refunds on online orders go back to your original payment method through Square.
Running late for your pickup? Call us at (704) 412-2151. We’d rather hold your donuts than waste them.
Canceling a pickup order
You can cancel a pickup order on this website up until 15 minutes before your pickup time, using the cancellation link in your order confirmation email. Once we’ve started your order, online cancellation closes and the order can no longer be canceled from the website. If you need help after that point, call us at (704) 412-2151 during shop hours and we’ll do what we can.
When a cancellation goes through, we refund the full amount to the payment method used at checkout. Your bank or card issuer determines how long the refund takes to appear on your statement. We do not charge a cancellation fee.
Booking inquiries are inquiries, not bookings
Submitting the booking form does not book anything. It starts a conversation.
A date is yours only when we’ve confirmed it with you directly and agreed the details in writing. Until then it’s open, and we may book it to someone else. We’ll always try to reach you first, but we can’t hold a date on the strength of a form submission alone.
Pricing, minimums, travel, and staffing for private events are quoted per event, because they depend on where you are, how many guests you’re feeding, and what you want served. Nothing on this site is a quote.
Menu, prices, and hours
Everything on this site is accurate as best we can keep it, and all of it can change. The online-ordering menu shows what’s orderable right now; it’s a curated subset of the full menu, and items can sell out during the day.
Flavors rotate. Items sell out — we make donuts to order, and some days we run out of something. Prices change. Shop hours can change for holidays or for reasons we didn’t see coming. Truck stops are listed as far ahead as we’ve booked them, and events get moved or cancelled by the people running them, not by us.
If a specific thing matters to you on a specific day, call us at (704) 412-2151 before you drive over. We’d rather answer the phone than disappoint you.
About gluten — please read this one properly
Our kitchen is one hundred percent gluten-free. We do not use wheat, barley, or rye in any product, and no gluten-containing ingredient has ever been in our kitchen. There is no shared fryer and no shared prep surface, because there is nothing here to share them with. This is the core of what we do and we take it seriously.
Two honest cautions:
Gluten-free is not allergen-free. Our products contain other common allergens, which may include dairy, eggs, soy, and tree nuts depending on the item. If you have any allergy other than gluten, please ask us before ordering. Our staff will tell you what’s in something, and if they don’t know they’ll find out.
We can’t control the whole world. We source ingredients from suppliers who certify them gluten-free and we trust them, but we don’t grow wheat-free fields or run their facilities. We also cannot control what a guest brings in with them.
If you have celiac disease or a serious allergy and you have questions, please talk to us in person or call. We would much rather have that conversation than have you unwell.
Our stuff
The name Donut I Love U, our logo, our photographs, and the writing on this site belong to us. Please don’t use them for your own commercial purposes without asking. Sharing a link or a photo of your own donuts is not only fine, it’s encouraged.
Links to other places
We link to Square, to social media, and to map services. We don’t run those sites and we’re not responsible for what’s on them.
The legal part
This site is provided as it is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don’t guarantee it will always be either.
To the fullest extent the law allows, Donut I Love U LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including liability for personal injury caused by our negligence.
None of this affects your rights as a guest regarding the food we actually sell you. If we serve you something wrong, tell us and we’ll make it right. That’s not a legal position, it’s how we run the place.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when we last did.
